On US-23 north side of Rogers City, turn to the left (west) onto Birchwood Road just after Trout River Bridge. Follow the narrow road to the end (about ¾ mile), and park there.
On the banks of the Trout River, this 270-acre park features picnic area, fishing areas, and more than seven miles of wooded hiking trails. Species that have been spotted here include Black capped Chickadees, White breasted Nuthatch, Golden crowned Kinglets, Downy Woodpeckers, Mallard Ducks, American Crow, Blue Jays and a Hawk circling by the picnic grounds!
The park has a variety of forest and wetlands types. Mature aspen and pine forests, young aspen-birch forests, oak and pine forests, swamp hardwoods, open wet meadowes, lowland bursh, shallow pond, and the Trout River provide habitat for a variety of birds and other wildlife.
There are more than seven miles of hiking trails here, some offering vistas of Trout River.
